# Wise - Bank transfer integration

## How does it work?
As a merchant, you need to **register a business account in Wise** [here](https://wise.com/gb/business/).
Then, **connect your account with UpPromote**. Kindly find our detailed instructions for the Wise connection in [How to set up?](#how-to-set-up).
After Wise is successfully integrated, your affiliates need to **provide their bank account** to receive commissions in the affiliate portal.
When affiliates bring in referrals, you can **review the total amount** to be paid (including the estimated Wise transaction fee) and **process the payment** **directly** to the bank account they provided before.
Finally, to **monitor the status** of all your Wise transfers, you can go to the **History** tab.
## Wise transaction fee
The Wise transaction fee is worked out as a percentage of the amount you’re sending. The percentage varies from currency to currency. To see exactly how much your transfer could cost, please visit [Wise pricing page](https://wise.com/gb/pricing/business/send-money).
* To check the pricing for a specific country, click the **circular flag** icon in the top right to choose your country.
* Please select the **Paying with your account** option to get the accurate transaction fee when paying commissions via UpPromote.
* The applied fee for your transfer will appear in the **Total included fees** field.
## How to set up?
### Requirements for integration
To connect your Wise account, the following conditions must be met:
* A **Wise business** account (which has been verified and is eligible to send money).
* An UpPromote **Professional Plan** or higher.

**Note**:
* Please check the list of supported currencies in Wise [here](https://wise.com/help/articles/2571907/what-currencies-can-i-send-to-and-from).
* For US merchants, make sure that your company is registered in one of the states [where Wise is licensed](https://wise.com/us/legal/state-licenses#policy).

### Step 1: Create a Wise Team Member account
To securely manage permissions for your UpPromote integration, we recommend creating a dedicated Team Member account in Wise.

1. **Log in your Wise business account:** Access your Wise business account dashboard.
2. **Create a Team Member account:**
* Navigate to your **Team members and payment approvals** in the **Settings** section.
* **Add team member** account specifically for UpPromote integration.
* When setting permissions for this member, select *only* the necessary permissions below**:**
* **View account:** View all transactions, View account balances, View recipient lists.
* **Move money:** Set up or make payments via transfer, Add or edit recipients.
* **Manage team:** View team members.
* **Manage account:** Manage software integrations and tools.
These specific permissions are crucial for processing bank transfers securely and efficiently. Do not grant unnecessary access.
* Confirm **No approval** for the **transfer approval**. Our app will only create transfers for payouts you've already approved within UpPromote.

**Important note**
* This team member account should be used for UpPromote commission payout transactions only to provide transparency and security.
* Please **do not share the password** of this team member account with us. We only need the **API token** generated in this account to connect UpPromote with Wise.

### Step 2: Get your Wise API token from the Team Member account
After setting up your dedicated Wise Team Member account, you need to generate the API token from it.
1. **Log in your team member account** you created in Step 1.
2. **Access API token settings:** Go to the **Integrations and Tools** and find API tokens.
3. **Generate API token:**
* Click **Add new token >** Enter a token name > Set **Full access** for token permissions.
* Please remember, the API access will be tailored to the specific permissions you granted to this team member account in Step 1.
4. **Reveal key** and **copy this API Key** for the next step.

### Step 3: Connect Wise to UpPromote
Now, you will use the API Key obtained from Wise to link your accounts within UpPromote.
1. In your UpPromote admin: Go to **Settings** > **Integration** > Turn on **Wise - Bank transfer** > Click **Yes, connect now**.
2. Confirm "*I have created my team member account in Wise*" and click **Next** to move into the next step.
3. Paste the copied **API Key** from Wise into the **API Key** field and click **Verify API Key** button to initiate the connection.
If you use the business owner's API Key instead of the team member's, an error message will appear. Please enter the correct API Key.
4. Verify your Wise business profile information
* **Confirm business profile:** UpPromote will display the Wise business profiles detected from your API token. If you have multiple business profiles, please select the one you want to connect for your UpPromote payouts.
* **Profile connection limit:** Each Wise business profile can be connected to a maximum of 5 other Shopify stores. Please select or create another Wise business profile.
* **Currency balance account:** The Wise currency balance we use to fund your money transfers will match your **Shopify store currency** settings to ensure seamless transactions. If no matching currency balance is found, the system will display "N/A", and you need to create the corresponding balance in your Wise account to continue to set up.
5. If your API token is valid, you need to agree to all our terms and conditions. Then, click **Save & next** to move to the final step in the integration process.
### Step 4: Complete the payout security method and finish integration
Based on your Wise business profile country, you will have a different method to confirm Wise commission payout transactions:
* If your Wise business account is from the UK or [European Economic Area](https://www.gov.uk/eu-eea) countries, you'll need to [authorize payout transfers directly within Wise](https://docs.wise.com/api-docs/guides/strong-customer-authentication-2fa).
* If your Wise business account is from other countries, you'll need to set up **Google Authentication** or a **Payout password** to authorize payouts within UpPromote.
After successfully *c*onnecting your Wise API token and completing the security method, Wise integration is activated.
