UpPromote General Settings
Set up the basics of your affiliate program in UpPromote General settings. Manage your contact email, brand, cookie window, approvals, and notifications.
General is the default tab in Settings. It's where you set the basics of your program: your contact email, your branding, the cookie window, your notifications, and the rules for approving affiliates and orders.
You can set these up once and adjust them later. The sections below explain each option.
Branding and contact
Contact email: set the email affiliates use to reach you.
Brand settings: add your brand name so the affiliate experience feels like yours.
Favicon: add your favicon to the affiliate pages.
Tracking and cookies
Cookie settings: set how long an affiliate gets credit after someone clicks their link.
Detect referrals from Google Ads: decide how to handle sales that also came through Google Ads.
Impact of changing your Shopify store currency: see what happens to your data if you change your store currency.
Reviews and approvals
These settings decide whether you review new affiliates and orders by hand, or let UpPromote handle them for you.
Auto-activate affiliates: approve new affiliates automatically when they sign up.
Auto-approve orders: approve referral orders automatically so you don't review each one.
Record pending orders as referrals: track orders as referrals before they're marked paid.
Notifications
Weekly email report: get a summary of your program in your inbox each week.
Frequently asked questions
What is the cookie window?
It's how long an affiliate gets credit after a customer clicks their link. If the customer buys within that window, the sale counts as that affiliate's referral. You set it in Cookie settings.
Should I auto-approve affiliates and orders?
It depends on how hands-on you want to be. Many merchants review by hand at first, then turn on auto-activate affiliates and auto-approve orders once they trust the flow.
Where do I set my contact email and brand name?
In General settings. Use Contact email for the address affiliates reach you at, and Brand settings for your brand name.
What happens if I change my store currency?
It can affect your existing data. Read Impact of changing your Shopify store currency before you make the switch.
