# MCP

## Overview

Learn how MCP clients connect to your UpPromote workspace.

UpPromote MCP lets an MCP client - such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Antigravity - connect to your UpPromote workspace through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Once connected, the client can read your affiliate program data and help you run everyday tasks in plain language, without switching to the UpPromote dashboard.

**Availability:** This feature is available on the **Professional plan and above**.

## How UpPromote MCP works

UpPromote MCP is a remote MCP server hosted by UpPromote. After you authorize a connection with your MCP Authorization key, the MCP client can use UpPromote MCP tools to read and update the program data that your account can access.

An MCP client connects to UpPromote's remote MCP server, which talks to UpPromote through the UpPromote API. You stay in control: the client can only see and do what your account permissions allow.

**Note:** The quality of answers depends on the AI model you use. The MCP Server provides accurate affiliate data to the AI; interpreting, summarizing, and presenting that data is handled by your AI model. As a result, different models (or different versions) may produce answers that vary in accuracy and detail. For the best results, use a recent, capable AI model.
{% endhint %}

## What you can do

MCP clients can combine UpPromote MCP tools to:

* Look up affiliates, referrals, and commissions in your program.
* Check performance — top affiliates, performance data.
* Review your affiliate, approve or deny them.

See [Supported tools](https://docs.uppromote.com/~/revisions/GNHCrkPP03Iv0fEYoaq1/settings/integrations/mcp/supported-tools) for the current tool list.

## Admin controls

Store owners can manage MCP client access in Settings → Connections inside the UpPromote app. From there you can review which clients are connected, see what each connection can access, and revoke access at any time.
