Manually add referral

Learn how to manually add affiliate commissions in UpPromote using an Order ID or a fixed amount, and bulk import past referrals from Excel or CSV.

In order to add commissions manually, go to Referrals > Add referrals.

You can choose to add a referral using the Order ID or A fixed amount.

Use Order ID

If you choose to add a referral using the order ID, you need to enter the order ID as well as the affiliate's name/email. Our system will automatically calculate the commission based on the order value and the affiliate program's commission rate. You can read more about how to get Order ID here.

Fixed amount

There are some cases when you need to add a fixed commission amount to an affiliate:

1. Give out a bonus for an affiliate: If an affiliate did an outstanding job and you want to incentivize them with a bonus, you can manually add a commission amount. You can also leave a comment to clarify the bonus rule.

2. Sell in person

If the order ID doesn't exist in your shop because your representatives sell items to customers in person, you can still add a referral commission to an affiliate easily.

3. Special cases

When your business rules do not match the app commission rule, you can still flexibly add a commission to an affiliate and leave a comment to explain.

Especially, in the case of refunded referrals, you can add a negative number to balance the previous commission amount.

Bulk Import Referrals

In case you move to UpPromote from another affiliate platform and want to import old referrals for your current affiliates to the app or wish to add multiple commissions for some affiliates at the same time, you can easily handle that using the Import Referrals function.

Go to Referrals > Add referral > Import Referrals.

Upload an Excel or CSV file containing the following three required fields: email, total_sales, and commission_amount. Each file can have a maximum of 200 referrals.

Also, keep in mind that you can only bulk-import referrals with fixed commission amounts.
