We’re excited to announce the release of store credit combination features in UpPromote!
Besides free shipping discounts, merchants can now allow store credit to combine with Shopify product and order discounts at checkout. This feature is expected to effectively promote merchants' affiliate program and customer referral. Learn more about the new feature here.
Display affiliate coupon applied on referral details

We're excited to announce that affiliate coupons are now displayed on referral details in both the merchant and affiliate portals. This means you'll know exactly which coupon was used for each affiliate's referral.
New tracking method - Web Pixel for Third-party stores

To improve accuracy and align with Shopify’s latest requirements, we’ve introduced Web Pixel as the new method for tracking affiliate referrals on third-party stores. This upgrade replaces the previous ScriptTag tracking method.
As part of this change, ScriptTag will soon be deprecated and removed. To avoid any disruption in tracking, we recommend all third-party merchants update the code to Web Pixel as soon as possible.
How to update your tracking code:
Go to Settings > Integration > Third-party tracking, then click View guide to access the new Web Pixel code.
You can follow the instructions in-app to set up or refer to this detailed guide for step-by-step support.
Updates to Payment tab and Store credit payments

In your Merchant portal, the PayPal payment tab is now called In-app payment. This tab now includes payouts for two payment methods:
PayPal (if you've integrated with PayPal)
Store credit
You won't find store credit payments in the Manual payment tab anymore; they're exclusively shown under In-app payment.
In Affiliate portal, you'll notice a change in the Payment settings user interface for the bank transfer method. Affiliates can now add their preferred payout currency directly.
MAY 2025 UPDATES
Action required: UpPromote essentials app embed

To comply with Shopify’s latest requirement for affiliate apps and improve tracking accuracy, UpPromote is switching to a new tracking technology called Web Pixel.
To enable Web Pixel tracking on your store, you need to activate the UpPromote essentials app embed. This replaces the current ScriptTag method, which will be removed on June 23, 2025.
What you need to know
The current ScriptTag tracking method will no longer be supported in UpPromote after June 23, 2025.
You must enable UpPromote essentials app embeds to run Web Pixel tracking on your store and ensure accurate affiliate referral tracking.
Failure to enable UpPromote essentials before June 23, 2025 may result in missing referral data. UpPromote cannot be held responsible for referrals missed due to this.
Web Pixel offers more reliable and seamless tracking integration compared to the previous method.
How to enable UpPromote essentials app embed
Log in to your Shopify Admin dashboard.
Navigate to Online Store > Themes.
Click Customize on your current live theme.
In the theme editor, click on App embeds (usually located under the Theme settings).
Find UpPromote essentials in the list of app embeds.
Toggle the switch to Enable it.
Click Save in the theme editor to apply the changes.
MooseDesk integration

We’re excited to announce that UpPromote is now integrated with MooseDesk, bringing a seamless support experience to both merchants and affiliates.
With this integration, affiliates can easily reach out to merchants via a convenient chat widget directly on their affiliate account page, enabling real-time communication and quick issue resolution.
As a merchant, you can benefit from centralized management of all chats and support tickets through the MooseDesk app, ensuring efficient and organized affiliate support. Please refer to this document for more details and instructions on setting up MooseDesk integration.

Bulk download invoices - Payments

We’re excited to announce the release of the "Bulk download invoice" feature in UpPromote!
Merchants can export invoices in bulk instead of downloading one single invoice. Invoice files will be sent via email and stored in a .zip file. Please refer to this document for more details.
New layout updates - Settings, Programs, Affiliate profile

We’re excited to introduce several updates to improve your experience using the app. Here’s a summary of the changes:
1. Settings layout change
The Settings menu has been reorganized into horizontal tabs for more intuitive navigation. Some features are also relocated between Settings tabs.
Product analytics settings are now located on the Analytics page.
2. New Displays menu
Affiliate display settings (e.g., Registration form, Affiliate account text) are now found under a separate Displays menu in the main menu.
3. Add/Edit program update
The Special product commission feature has been moved to a dedicated area on the Add/Edit Program page for easy access.
The Excluded products/collections from commission option has been separated from the Tax & Shipping section for better organization.
4. Affiliate profile enhancements
The Commission and Network tabs now display as two sections on the affiliate profile with an overview of the statistics for each.
Clicking "View details" will open the old tabs with detailed data for each section.

New referral displays, customer Journey and program rules release

We’re excited to announce the release of several new features in UpPromote!
The updated Referral List & Details now provide a more detailed view of commission calculations, giving you full transparency into how commissions are earned.
Additionally, the new Customer Journey feature lets you track the path your customers take, from browsing your store to the referral order, including the channels they were referred from. These updates will help you gain deeper insights into your affiliate program performance.
We’ve also revamped Program Rules to give you more control over exclusions. You can now choose to exclude shipping, taxes (product and shipping tax), or tip when calculating referral commissions. These updates will help you fine-tune your affiliate program and better manage commission settings.

Exclude products from commission

Add more sync options to Multi-store

Previously, this feature was limited to syncing affiliates and coupons across multiple stores. With the latest update, the Multi-store feature now supports additional sync options or allows you to switch off Syncing and simply connect stores together.
You can choose to sync programs and other program-related features, such as Multi-level Marketing, Bonuses, and other important settings like Payment methods, Registration form, … allowing for a more cohesive and integrated management of your affiliate campaigns.

Furthermore, you will have an option to set the Minimum purchase requirements for customers to receive discounts, and the Usage limit that Limit coupon to one use per customer.

The UpPromote embedded app is live

We’re thrilled to announce that the embedded version of UpPromote is officially released on Shopify. You can now open and use UpPromote directly from your Shopify admin and enjoy a seamless experience using the app.
In this update, we have improved the Onboarding process and Home page. Specifically, the Onboarding process has been shortened and focuses more on your primary role as a merchant in an Affiliate Marketing campaign.
The Home page has also been redesigned and added a Recommendations section, where you can explore suggested features that match your goal when running an Affiliate Marketing program
Other notable changes in this embedded app update are the layout and the app speed, which help improve the overall experience.

Duplicate program option

If you want to make a copy of the exact same settings of one program, we now have the option to duplicate the program so you won’t have to manually set everything up from scratch. This feature is available from the Growth plan onwards.
Kindly note that it will only help duplicate program settings and its registration form. Special product commission will not be transferred over.
