Shorten affiliate links with Bit.ly

Available from the Professional plan.

Our app supports automatically generating shortened affiliate links using a service from Bitly.com

Instead of https://demostore.com/collection?sca_ref=refferal_code, an affiliate link after being shortened would look like: http://bit.ly/2pGYPMG.

1. Get Bit.ly access token

To get the Bit.ly access token, log in to your Bit.ly account here.

If you don't have a Bit.ly account, sign up here.

After logging in, click Settings:

Once you're there, please click on API under Developer settings and insert your Bit.ly account password to generate access token.

Copy the Access token, then get back to UpPromote:

2. Set up Shorten link

Go to Settings > Link & coupon > Shorten affiliate link, then enable Shorten affiliate link with Bit.ly. After that, fill out the Bit.ly token and click Save to complete the setup.

Optional: If you have set up a Bit.ly custom domain, you can put it into the box Bit.ly Custom domain so the shortened links would include it.

3. How affiliates get their shortened links

After activating shortened link, the shortened affiliate link will found on the affiliate account's Dashboard. Affiliates can simply click Get shortened link.

Bit.ly is a platform with subscription plans as well. Therefore, please make sure that you have an account with them to make sure you can generate an unlimited number of links.
